By combining American ingenuity, Chinese mass production of kitsch paintings and European impressionism, this series of appropriation print-paintings are a perfect representation of the nature of our contemporary global consumerist mass production culture.

These heavily mediated experimental paintings reprocess found images into a transformed canvas and monoprint by the process of a technique discovered and pioneered by the artist.  Process and aesthetic formalism play heavy roles in Joachim’s creative process as do re-contextualizing or re-purposing found images relating the art to appropriation art and pop.  Currently this body of work addresses globalization in the art world and is related to process art since the technique itself is by its nature unpredictable and because the artists hand is largely removed from the process.
